YOUTH ATHLETICS PROGRAM

The Knoxville Track ClubYouth Athletics Program was started in 1965 to help develop the sport of track and field and cross country in the local area.   The Knoxville Track Club serves over 7,000 kids aged 5-18 each year in the areas of Track and Field, Cross Country and Road Running. With a focus on fun and fitness, KTC's youth programs help to develop the basic motor skills of running, jumping and throwing, skills that are the foundation for success in any spots or fitness activity. KTC's Youth Athletics Programs provides opportunities for kids in both developmental and competitive programs. By managing, supporting and funding area youth track and field, cross country and road running programs, KTC establishes a platform for enhancing each child's personal fitness and athletic aspirations.  Katerpillar Kids

Katerpillar Kids Camp is a special weekend camp experience for children and teens who are grieving the death of a loved one. The camp provides a safe, understanding environment where kids can share their similar feelings and find guidance and support from new friends and counselors. Most importantly, campers learn that they are not alone in this experience, that there are others their age who share the same feelings. The camp is held each fall in Townsend, Tennessee, and is provided free of charge by Covenant Homecare Hospice thanks to the sponsorship of Variety, The Children's Charity, and community donations.  To help raise funds for Katerpillar Kids, please click here.

Leisure has no barriers. The Innovative Recreation Cooperative (IRC) of Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center introduces individuals with a disability to new and creative ways to participate in leisure activities. Individuals with brain and spinal injury, stroke, and orthopedic injuries including amputees as well as neurological impairments participate in IRC programs. The IRC hosts clinics in water skiing, snow skiing, paddling, cycling, climbing, marksmanship, and golf on a regular basis. Specialty clinics are hosted depending on interest and have included road racing, tennis, sled hockey, hunting, fishing, self-defense, and camping. For the first time in the history of the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon, hand cyclists from the IRC program participated in the race last year.  To help raise funds for the Patricia Neal IRC, please click here.
